Hats that fit under
your helmet.

Finally.

We remove the top button from your custom cap so it sits flush under any helmet. Ski. Bike. Skate. No pressure points. Just your logo, all day.

What it is

The Squatchee, removed.

Every baseball cap has a small fabric-covered button sewn at the top — called a Squatchee. It's purely decorative, covering the seam where the panels meet. Under a helmet, it creates an uncomfortable pressure point that digs into your head. We remove it before your hats ship, leaving a clean, finished seam and a cap that sits flush against any helmet liner.

Hat with top button removed — clean crown seam

Helmet-Ready cap — button removed

The Squatchee button presses directly into the crown of your head inside the helmet shell. After a few runs it becomes genuinely uncomfortable — most riders ditch the cap entirely.

Fits flush under any helmet

No button, no pressure point. The cap sits flat inside the helmet liner. Your team or crew logo stays visible on the slopes — exactly where you want it.

How it works

Three steps. Zero fuss.

01

Start your hat order

Go through the custom order flow normally — pick your hat style, color, decoration method, and upload your artwork.

02

Enable the upgrade

In the customization step, flip the Helmet-Ready Upgrade toggle to "Yes." It adds $1.75/unit to your order total.

03

We handle the rest

Our production team removes the Squatchee from every hat in your order before embroidery. Your hats ship with a clean, finished crown seam.

Questions

Common questions.

Which hats qualify for the Helmet-Ready Upgrade?

Any structured or unstructured baseball cap, snapback, trucker hat, or dad hat in our catalog. The upgrade is not available for beanies or bucket hats since they don't have a top button.

Will removing the button affect the hat's structure?

No. The top button (Squatchee) is decorative — it covers the seam where the cap panels meet. Removing it doesn't affect the hat's shape, fit, or durability. The seam is clean and finished.

How much does it cost?

The Helmet-Ready Upgrade is +$1.75 per unit, added as a line item to your order. It applies to every hat in the quantity you order.

Can I order some hats with the button and some without?

Yes — the custom order flow lets you configure each hat style separately. Add the upgrade only to the hat styles where you want it removed.

Do I need to note anything special in my artwork?

No. Just enable the toggle in the order flow. Our production team handles the button removal during manufacturing — no artwork changes needed.

Will the hat still look the same from the outside?

Almost identically. The only change is the absence of the small fabric-covered button at the top crown. The seam is tidy and most people won't even notice unless they're looking for it.
